After Gram Parsons left The Flying Burrito Brothers, he enlisted the help of Emmylou Harris and recorded two solo albums.
The second of these, Grievious Angel was recorded in 1973, the year Parsons died from a morphine overdose in Joshua Tree, California (and released posthumously in 1974).
"$1,000 Wedding", originally written during his Burrito days has went on to become one of his best known songs.
