Neil Halstead first found relative fame with english shoegaze band Slowdive during the first half of the nineties. After losing their record deal the band decided to change direction and became Mojave 3, whose sound was a mix of dream pop and alternative country.
Halstead released his debut solo album Sleeping On Roads in 2002 during a break from Mojave 3.
