"#1 Hit Song" is taken from the Minutemen's now legendary 1984 release - Double Nickels On The Dime.
The 45 track album is an ambitious work, encompassing a multitude of themes and genres, while keeping within their punk rock ethos.
The minutemen's career was cut short a year after the release of Double Nickels... with the tragic death of singer/guitarist D. Boon in a van accident. The remaining band members went on to form Firehose.
